Get a Mac, the parental controls can be set for time, amount of usage, and a bunch of other settings

Just let him know you will be checking the history often and you will know ifbthe history has been deleted.

ive used opendns for a few years. This works great for home wifi systems. I think it also works with mobile devices too but have no experience. We also use the circle by disney which limits wifi time and what sites they can view. You can also restrict the wifi to turn on and off at set times. You can also pause the internet on someone. Though this system is mainly for your home wifi I believe they have a mobile version also but again no experience.

@Thatgirl used the parental controls on the iPhone extensively at one point. Works frustratingly well. I’ll see if she can drop in and leave a note how if it hasn’t been outlined by someone else by then.

I would use a RPi with GateSentry or other software, it will works better and it will not matter which device is conected

If you take this aproach you also can add an adblocker to the pi so your internet experience will improve, even if you use rigth now and ad blocker is running locally, it means the device gets the ads and when the pages loads the blocker has to run and hide for you, it adds latency to the loading and use more data, the pi will simply not ask to download that data so it will load faster, somehting like pi hole

It requires to buy hardware and spend time on the software, if you know linux it will be easy and the best option you can get, Cisco routers or other pros cost much more

Mistress works and I am retired and at home during the day. So that She can monitor and exercise Her control, last year we installed 2 Canary cameras through which She can view me from Her phone whenever She wishes. In the beginning, She was watching me very regularly and would frequently text me with instructions and/or admonitions. Now, I never know for sure when She is watching. She often threatens to show me off, in my lingerie and makeup, to Her coworkers and friends. She also checks history on my laptop, iPad and phone and I have adjusted to simply being under Her watchful control.

Hi there. As @Thatguyontheinternet said, I used parental controls quite extensively on his iPhone. Go to settings, general, restrictions and then press “enable restrictions”. You can put in a unique passcode and then choose what you want to be filtered on safari and also choose to limit or disable apps like tumblr or whatnot. It worked REALLY well and even restricted some non-explicit but still adult related stuff. Hope this helps and good luck

This can be done by setting the parental controls on their cellular device or monitoring their history. Miss Shelly tried controlling the amount of time I spent on the internet but that had problems. So now she checks my History, this has worked good for us without the parental controls on my iPad or phone. Their needs to be some element of trust also envolved, just don’t step over that line.

My wife is on the IT side of things. We have a pro-level router, and she has it set up so that during the day time (when I work from home) the only allowed traffic on my devices is to gmail, vpn to my work, and a few other white listed sites. My phone also has restrictions... look up Mobile Device Management (MDM) for iPhone...

This is actually done on my request to keep me focused on work during the work day (hey, honey, you should just block fark.com...). She's gone beyond that, but it's ok with me. For much the same reason, we've been playing with chastity devices again. And, much like a chastity device, I could get by the blocks if I worked at it, but since it's being done at my request and for my (well, my job's) benefit, I go along with it. Yep, she looks at the web traffic, and yup she knows I'm visiting here now.

She's mentioned (only jokingly, I assume!) that attempts to connect to dis-allowed domains should trigger a shock collar...

And in addition if you've a separate computer you can get something like Teamviewer and instal it on him so you can control his internet use totally.

As an ex IT person who tried to limit what his employees did on the internet, the only real control is to unplug it and lock it in a safe. While a child may be stopped with parental controls that limit the type of website that can be visited, an adult can easily get around that and my employees have. Sex sites often have different ways in. You can use any of the websites that allow you to visit other websites anonymously. I use IPVanish with my cable TV company so they cannot monitor my usage or record where I go. I can easily get around anyone trying to block me limit me since I am anonymous on the web if I want to be.

We have tried expensive content filters at work and they do not work very well and often block users from visiting legitimate sites. When it comes to porn sites it is a losing battle as some have many ways to get into them through different URLs and other tricks. Also remember there is smart phones and they would have to be blocked too. I use team viewer for work but who wants to sit there and watch someone's screen for hours.

I need computers for my work and have 4 of them running at once. My wife does not care where I go on the internet since porn sites only make me hornier while locked up and that is what she wants. You can go to Instagram or other social media sites and get some pretty hot pictures can captions there too. There is no way to control it unless you take the PC away as well as the smart phone.

The stuff you see advertised is for young kids and even most of them know how to get around it. You can install software that monitors key strokes but the time it takes to review it and then visit the sites will be a part time job for you.

So right! A while ago I saw a wonderful cartoon of a small boy on a computer, with father standing by asking him: *So how do I get these parental controls to work?"

That said Teamviewer combined with things like K9 and keylogger will do quite a lot. There are groups on Fetlife on this subject in massive detail, somewhat off-topic for CM, though could be fitted in Other Fetishes I suppose.

Where I work access to iffy websites (not just porn but much else like gambling) is impossible as all such sites are blocked. Even Facebook!

At home, you can definitely be more aggressive and block sites, access times, time limits, etc via local policy and user settings. At work, this level of control makes any practice work impossible. The easiest way would be to have systems with no internet access or an enterprise solution like ForcePoint with tracking / reporting

Depends on how the blocking is managed. Ubiquity Edgerouter has very good, if very complex, firewall rules capability. Different routers have different levels of control. Maybe just looking at what the router provides for parental controls is sufficient, maybe not.

In my case, the block is a white list at the router. All devices on the network (wired and wireless) are only allowed on by MAC address, and the white list for each is controlled. For some things like the IP cameras, it keeps them from talking to China; other things like the Amazon Echos can only talk to Amazon, etc. There is a guest network more open to the internet, but my devices are explicitly excluded from being able to access it.

For my desktop, laptop, tablet, etc., the access is limited during work hours to only gmail, slack, etc. I cannot get to any other website, or VPN site, or use Tor, or anything that uses any other IP addresses than what is specifically allowed. Since I can VPN to work, I can do everything 'legitimate' I need to do through there. My work VPN is a Split Tunnel config, so while I can reach any corporate intranet servers through the VPN, general internet traffic is subject to the blocks.

Using MDM, my ipad and phone has a forced-on VPN to the home router active at all times, so all traffic ends up being subject to the same limitations whether I am on LTE or home Wifi or coffee shop Wifi or a neighbor's open guest WiFi. Not exactly what we use, but see as an example: https://www.qustodio.com/en/help/article/2076783/

So... as long as you have someone setting things up correctly, and don't mind a VERY constrained experience, it is possible to be pretty darned locked down. This is, so far, sufficient to make it "impossible" (for a reasonable-effort definition of "impossible") to get access to the sites I had in the past wasted WAY too much time on. The porn blocking is, according to my wife, a nice side benefit. At least, like I said, as long as one isn't willing to do the networking equivalent of taking metal cutting shears to a belt... I mean, the router cabinet is thinner steel than the belt I'm wearing, if it came to that...

(I feel the need to be clear that this is done between us consensually... some of the tools and such that exist could border, in my opinion, on abuse, or breach of trust, or other things that may be dangerous to a real life relationship. YMMV, but use the tools responsibly.)
