thought i'd try a hinged cage for a couple of days to see what it's like. the tube rubbed me so raw that i'm gonna have to stay uncaged for a week or so to let it heal Important lesson learnt.
I'm sorry to hear that. Thank you for posting to let others know just how easily this can happen. Locking is something that needs to be done carefully so that we can all enjoy it.
It sounds to me as though you need some advice on the right creams and potions to use and where. It's much easier to adapt to long term wear with some preventative treatment.
Most hinged devices benefit from a small piece of tubing or bandaid wrapped around the hinge. Given that a tightly fitting ring will bring the hinge up high and snug to the perineum, behind the ball sac and so difficult to monitor, keeping the area free of any chafing is well worth it. The great advantage of a hinged device is that you can (usually) accommodate a smaller A ring, aiding security and the overall sense of confinement and disciplined submission.

changed back to my solid ring cage with barrel lock now, it fits perfectly, i've been scared off hinged tubed rings.
I've used a hinged ring for some time now, and have been very comfortable with it. I wear it pretty much 24/7, with occasional 10 minute unlocks for cleaning/looking at the skin/etc. Otherwise, it stays on, and without any problems. (other than being horny all the time, LOL)
