You should always have an emergency key, in case you are hit by a bus!

If you get hit by a Bus while wearing your cage. Where your key is would probably be the least of your worries, they can always cut it off you or wait till you keyholder arrives.

An emergency key is more of a comfort blanket. It lets you know you can always take it off if and when you want. We’ve gone away from the emergency key along time ago. Mistress has both keys and I have No idea where they are. If I’m hit by a Bus she’s the first person that they would call.

 

Try replacing weirdos with unique individuals. It fits much better.

Sound advice. Mistress has one key with Her at all times, the other is in a locked security box in the bedroom, secured by a 10 digit password.
Its a compromise between safety and security. I can't unlock myself without Her. If She gets hit by the bus then I'll have a problem

 

I used to have a key with me at work. Eventually I realised if I get hit by a bus they will cut the device off if they need to.

 

If I genuinely needed out when Mrs Chaste wasn't at home a text message would secure the keysafe number! Not a big deal as she can always change the number. If she was hit by the proverbial bus then I'd stay locked!

 

I've gone back and forth on the "extra key" issue. There are practical reasons for which you may need to remove it. My doctor asked me to remove it to do an examination, and I'm sure you can come up with others.

So, my beautiful wife/KH and I agreed that there will be an extra key. We keep it frozen inside a cup of water in the freezer, so I can't get at it on a whim. Not that I've ever really wanted to. Which makes me wonder why I go to the trouble of keeping it frozen in ice.....As you can see, I'm a bit conflicted by the extra key idea.

 

I have number metal cable secure seal running through my integrated lock - so have a key with no issue - you have cut the cable to get to the lock

 

"Hit by a bus" was more proverbial. There are many situations where a cage may need to be removed quickly for safety, security, health, or preventing embarrassment issues. For example, work sends you on an errand to a company with metal detectors, or you have a stroke/accident and need an urgent MRI scan (metal chastity cage vs 3T magnet won't end too well). Personally, I think that keeping an emergency key, which can in a sealed envelope for example is essential for safety. However, saying that, due to my work, a 24/7 chastity cage is impractical anyway.

 

Rather than doing that, it is better top throw the key somewhere behind an inconvenient place stuck add behind a TV cabinet. For me, I have this big wardrobe that needs two people to move and to move it I need to remove my desk and bed. It isn't truly gone but it is very difficult to access.

You are totally correct. It depends so much on what you do for a living. Like you said with metal detectors. Their is really no right or wrong way just different situations like you say an urgent MRI scan. Were I live that never happens urgently it takes sometime to get one. Also how far away your keyholder is away can make a difference as to how soon the cage could be removed if needed. Sometimes it’s just not practical as you say that’s just the way life is and you learn to live with it.

 

I have a key on my key chain but
I have cable secure seal that’s twisted metal wire and numbered so it take a bit to cut - this running though the locked-
So that’s how I deal with emergency key
Someone has to cut the cable then use the key - I can’t do unless I have enough time
