Frozen veg is a marvel, so many uses. The Queen of frozen veg in my house; petit pois! I keep a small bag at the bottom of my freezer, it's a very useful tool to help edged and teased cagees return to caging size. So much fun to be had with this wonderful vegetable. This is why it's so important to look after your tools, or unsuspecting visitors may use it for dining! Sister in law was staying with us recently and as much as i love having family to stay, it does mean that jack has to be dressed. Still, that can be tolerable, but when said sister in law decides to cook dinner and uses my petit pois, that really does have the potential to niggle. That said, she was very thoughtful to cook dinner for us all, but probably found it all quite strange as jack and I giggled through the entire meal! SiL had no idea where that bag of petit pois had been, or the use made of it. She probably just thought we were two immature mad fools.
Dear Sister-in-law. That you so much for cooking a great dinner. But next time, can you give the petit pois a miss - we need them to help Jack get back in his cage
I saw the name of this post and thought 'what?"! Family visits are wonderful - both when they arrive & when they leave. I can just see you two giggling with each mouthful. That made me chuckle the loudest! It reminded me of Huckleberry Finn ... The Widow Douglas (I believe it was) used to dress poor Huck in new clothes when he came over so he would look respectable. Huck hated them! He was most comfortable as a tatterdemalion. Somewhat different than your situation to be sure ... but still - I wonder if Jack felt as out of place in those clothes as Huckleberry did. Thanks Mandy!
We can’t top that story! We call all our relatives “the seagulls” They fly in from afar, make a lot of noise, eat everything, shit everywhere, then fly away without so much as an apology.
