@Little dicky Welcome to the Mansion. Never good to rush things and although the CB6000s is a good way to find your measurements, it's not an ideal device for lengthy lock-ups.
Baby steps. The biggest mistake I made at first and what I see most often is hitting your keyholder with a scripted fantasy that you have had months to formulate but is all new to her. I use baby oil gel. I lube around scrotum and head of penis also. I remove cage every three to four days to clean and to shave( I stay smoothe shaved). On the day's I'm locked I apply more baby oil gel at base ring and to head using a q- tip in the mornings and at night after my shower. My longest has been 18 days with no issues. I am currently 9 days in to an unspecified lock up. Hope this helps.
I know you probably just didn't write it but we use baby oil GEL. It will be a lot less messy than oil and has a similar consistency to lubes like KY.

The best device is just a quality device that fits you well. Myself I use a jailbird from maturemetal. As for lube. I don’t use any lube at all. I got the fit right off the bat (luckily) from a week of measuring and getting same size ring as needed with my CB. In hindsight I wish I would of got the double base ring instead of the single

It lubricates going in and then quickly evaporates and leaves everything clean and nice smelling. While Mistress only locks me up when She is at work, I keep the ball ring on all of the time.
