Part 5 ~ The best thing about the future is it only comes one day at a time...

It's more complicated than that at the moment sub4madam. Because we are on the threshold of the stamp duty increase, if we didn't put our house in the 250k bracket, a lot of people wouldn't pick it up in their search and we would miss out on a lot of viewings.

pet listened in on the viewing today and the estate agent made it clear that this should have been a 270k house at least, and that the viewer should easily see that she was getting a lot more than she was paying for.

She is bringing her hubby back tomorrow... and I won't accept anything below asking price. I'm confident we won't be sat on the market too long...

We haven't even advertised yet and this viewer is keen. They have sold STC, so they need to get a move on or their buyer will pull out. Buyers are not easy to come buy these days!!!

If they don't offer the asking price, their loss. We are the only house this big in that price range, and we won't even have our HIP for 10 days or so, so I don't need to rush to accept anything... they can sit and wait!

Anyway - her hubby might turn up and hate it!

 

Crappy day and I only just woke up. I say woke up, but I hardly slept. That's 3 nights of virtually no sleep and boy am I grumpy!

pet snoring, pet hogging the bed and general stress are the main factors.

Anyway... we have another "Uni Do" on Friday and because I'm the organised one (WTF!) I have started to organise it. The two girls who suggested the idea are bringing their better halves, which means that I would be the only "single" female. pet a) doesn't want to be there and b) someone needs to babysit.

I'm not excited about it at all. I'm back in frumpy land and after what happened last time... hmmmm... I think what I'm afraid of is that I won't have anyone to flirt with, even in a platonic way.

BG will most probably be terrified to come anywhere near me, and the other 2 potential males are Mr Married and a very laid back, quiet Saudi guy.

Blah, don't wanna go.

pet and I were going to go shopping today, just window shopping and dress trying on shopping (me not charlotte!) so maybe if I find something wonderful (or even something that FITS!) I will feel a bit more excited about going.

Hubby will be bringing the kids back from their grandparents today, and I need to talk to him about house finances, yay, that'll be fun!

 

pet and I have been playing karaoke (SingStar and Lips) all night, so we're quite rosy cheeked and happy at the mo.

Feeling slightly better about Friday now. Actually I'm looking into hiring a limo to treat my friends... what better way to start an evening than a cruise with champers in a limo with lights and music... I think it sounds pretty cool.

We're a man down already. BG has turned down the invitation because he's busy the next day. He could have popped in for a couple and then then got an early night, but I guess that's too logical.

Then I got to thinking about escorts!

Why the heck are all the subbies in the states. All I need is a nice young man on my arm for the evening. No funny stuff, just smile, laugh and make me look desirable...

I'd love to call up BB for the night, but he's another Smug Married so that's out of the question.

Oh well, the party animal in me will have to purr rather than roar!

 

Well, no worries... it's not happening!

Despite being asked to organise something, no-one can make it... including one of the people who asked me to organise it!

I'm quite relieved actually, I really didn't want to be out and about in that sort of situation again. I just want to snuggle....

This house stuff is driving me mad. We went to see our "new house" yesterday because I wanted to check out the pool.

There had been some confusion. The pool was covered on our first visit and we were told that the chemicals had just been added and the cover had to stay on to keep it warm??? I have a small (15 foot) above ground pool and didn't think that sounded very truthful!

On this second visit we asked for the pool cover to be removed. There was some mumbling and moaning that it wouldn't be easy, then it transpired that there had been a mistake and the pool wasn't actually filled with water and was dirty.... big alarm bells!

I surfed the net, priced up new heaters, filters, pool relining, everything I could think could possibly be wrong with it. I wasn't too worried, surely the most expensive thing about an inground pool is the hole! And that was already there.

So we went back to the house and looked around... I love it more than ever now, which scares me!

We went down to the pool, which they had uncovered the deep end. I have NO IDEA what all the fuss and worry was about... the pool was full of water, the pool liner looks in great condition, and the pool was only very slightly green... I've seen much worse!

But blooming heck... 7 foot deep looks really REALLY deep! I don't know if it's because it's a fairly small pool, but that "plunge" area just looked a bit scary! The area is well fenced off though, so I'm not too worried, just concerned!

But that's not where the confusion is!

The bank is being an arse. We had one bank refused our mortgage (despite the fact we have one with them!) because hubby is no longer a UK resident... bollocks! He still has the right to vote and has a British passport.

The second bank, which we also have our main bank account with is being slightly less worrying, but keeps wanting to know more... they should have said yes on Wednesday, but still no formal answer.

Also, the 2nd family to look at our house put in an offer. Bearing in mind we already took 25k off the asking price before we put it on the market, they wanted to knock another 20k off because there is no upstairs bathroom.

That would be SOME upstairs bathroom if it cost 20k!

Needless to say, we rejected, but they haven't come back with a counter-offer or a refusal. I'm hoping they are talking to their "people"!

I just want it dealt with, say yes or no....

Things are a mess here. I hate lack of structure! It's only been one day since University was officially over (as far as lectures are concerned!) and I'm already gloomy and unfocused!

Today is mother's day, so we are going out buying shoes for the kids... well their father won't get off his butt and do it, he's too busy decorating!

I think I'm going to settle down later and figure out some sort of structure for the weeks ahead, before I go completely mad! :mad0233:

pet is also doing odd things lately. He's gone really touchy-feely and coming out with random comments like "can we play with Charlotte's toys tonight"... rollercoaster ride!!! Wish he'd make his bloody mind up!

 

I'm annoyed at pet... nothing new there then!

I was having a little flip-out over the fact that the house is getting a bit messy and we promised to stay on top of things whilst we were trying to sell. I said to pet that I had been trying to do a load of laundry every day for him, so that he didn't get into wild "Mt Wash-Me" panics, thinking that he would be grateful.

But nooooo.... the parting shot was "I didn't realise the laundry was my sole responsibility"!!!! :spider::sign0055:

Not sure if this is some kind of backlash to the lack of sex round here (again!) but he can relax.... all the worries of housework and laundry and shopping will be taken away from him as from 1st April (a decision made a couple of weeks ago) and he will have plenty of time to put his feet up, play his Xbox, watch football, ogle porn, drink beer, and stuff his face... LIKE PROPER MEN DO! (Note the sarcasm)

Anyway - back to me me me!!!

I managed an hour on the treadmill this morning, just walking and thinking. I feel better for having done something and got up early anyway. Busy busy today... swimming with baby, then lots of assignments to finish, and hopefully some news on the family who put in a low offer on our house last week... I'm not too hopeful though.

I'm in SO MUCH pain today!

Ok, maybe I'm making a bit too much fuss... :happy0007:

I've hurt my shoulder and I can't turn my head, I don't even know how I did it.

I'm very annoyed because I wanted to carry on with exercising, and do pilates last night, but I didn't dare because I didn't want to hurt my neck further. Also because I didn't sleep very well I didn't get up and use the treadmill this morning.

People who offered on our house still haven't got back to us, very annoyed! We do have another viewing this evening though, but it just seems a bit strange... we think we know which house they are selling, and it's bigger and nicer than ours but in the same price range. Something just doesn't seem right. Also their house has been on the market since September, so I don't really want a buyer who is having trouble selling!

Lots to do today, tidying, cleaning, more reading for Uni... not much fun lined up, especially when I can hardly move!

House dramas... the people who offered on our house decided to go and buy a house in another area (right between a motorway and a dodgy housing estate with a sprinkling of mobile homes) so blah at them.

We did have another viewing last night, the lady LOVED the house (they all do... :spider but she isn't being valued until Saturday so won't be on the market for another week, and it just delays things if she wants to buy. Having said that, I think the people we want to buy from will be quite patient... not only have they been on the market for a long time, I know it's important to them that they get a *nice* family in there. Their daughter lives next door and the kids share the pool in the summer, I think they are afraid of losing that. Anyway, they may be happy to have a longish wait until completion, but all this is theoretical anyway!

pet and I were thinking about going away Mon/Tues, but ex2b is leaving Weds morning so there would be no-one to look after the kids. Bit pissed off about this. I asked him to look after the kids for half an hour last night whilst we had the viewing... but he was too busy! Of course, he's only in the country <90 days per year, why on earth would he make time to see his kids! :spider:

Enough rambling...

 

Ahhh... found something better to do with my time today rather than writing my essay!

Yes, I'm very pleased with how the photos turned out. I am feeling a little better about myself these days due to a combination of better eating (but not a horrible diet!) and starting to exercise. Although I don't think I've lost weight (decided not to do the weighing thing!) I do feel more confident, so a lot of it is mental!

Busy day ahead. I have to finish this essay to hand in tomorrow, but I'm going out tonight and want to do fun beauty things today! Unfortunately having done fun sexy things yesterday, my time will be pushed.

Hubby phoned and said that our mortgage is finally sorted, so we have the money and a house to buy... now we just need someone to buy ours. I hope it doesn't take toooo long.

It’s been very busy here over the last couple of days. We have had 2 more viewings on the house, and another one today. I won’t be here, I’m going to the salon!

Yesterday and the day before I was working constantly on my essay, which I just managed to hand in on time but am not very happy with at all... done now, no point worrying!

Thursday night I went out with the girls. I didn’t enjoy it too much, the food was nice, but the company was diabolical! I found myself surrounded by a table of women who really REALLY need chastity in their lives and found it very frustrating not saying anything. The women were either single and fed up with men because of how they were treated by them, recently divorced because they were unhappy with the men they married, or married and miserable with the men they were still with!

Only one girl was putting on an “I’m a really kinky girl and I have such a fun sex life that I’m having an erotic tea party on Saturday and I’m making cakes in the shapes of willies because I’m so saucy” faade... it was at that point I just became quite despairing and realised how much I appreciate pet and his kinkiness.

Pet and I are thinking of going away for a couple of nights with baby. Hubby is working in the UK for a while and we figured it would be nice (ahem!) if he would take some time out and look after his children. (Sorry – private vent... last weekend he was too busy decorating to see them, the other night he was too busy to have them for 30 minutes whilst we showed the house.... I’m not entirely sure what he’s been doing on his own that makes him soooooooooo busy.)

Anyway, we have convinced him to be here in the house and see them off to school Tue/Wed and be here overnight to feed them and make sure they don’t trash the place!

We’re only off to a little hotel complex by the sea which has a big fun-pool which baby will love. We just wanted to get away and have some “quiet time”.

Well, that’s me done for now. Got to get the girl’s up, they have danceclass and exams today, then tidy the house for the viewing, then off to the salon, then finish wrapping presents for DD’s birthday tomorrow, then think about packing for our mini break because tomorrow I’m spending the day in London with hubby, DD11 and her friend! Yayyyyyy.... Natural History Museum here we come!

 

Well this week has been a bit of a headache for both pet and me.

Stressed out about the house (need it to sell quickly) massively stressed out about money (especially as I'm not sure what hubby's divorce plans are) stressed out about education (both of us have exams coming up and I have assignments to hand in) ... it has been a trying week.

So we are off for 2 days in Butlins (cheesy UK holiday camp!) It's all we could afford but we felt it was necessary to spend some time together and reconnect. Baby will be coming, but hopefully she will be in cutie-pie mode rather than terrible-two mode.

Hubby can spend 2 days looking after his kids, and will hopefully keep the house in order if we have viewings.

Although... the oddest thing happened last night.

I'd not long got in from London (we had a lovely time, but very tiring!) and a note was posted through our door. pet went to have a look, read the typed note and then explained what was in it.

A couple from over the road, who have had their house for 6 years and rented it out for a few of those due to army responsibilities have apparently been looking for a place for the past year or so. Our house is one of the ones they always said they would look at if it came up.

Being Sunday they couldn't contact the estate agent and had posted the note to ask if they could view.

Seemed VERY odd to us, but as my life is always very odd, we decided to take a chance, tidy up and invite them over.

They were LOVELY! They've been looking at houses 100k over the asking price of ours, so hopefully they can easily afford this. They have got their mortgage sorted in principle because they have rented their house out previously and it is a proven source of income... so these people have no chain and appear to have the money!

They stayed for 2 hours, chatting about general things, and they obviously adore the house as much as we do. All the noises were positive, and we are hoping they put in an offer tomorrow morning.

If this comes off, I will be amazed. The oddest things always happen to me!

Anyway... there is no internet in our hotel as far as I know, so we will see you on Wednesday.
