    Hello everyone,

I am looking forward purchasing a Crucible 2.0 by Steelwerks LINK, I will shortly get a Prince Albert piercing but I am not really sure about the best size to support the weight of the cage. Any suggestion on the minimum / optimum size for the piercing?

Thank you all for the feedback and wish you all a good day!

I could be wrong, but The crucible looks like it is secured with a curved barbell.
If that's the case, a ball diameter larger than the size of the opening would ensure a secure fit regardless of the gauge of the bar

    Hello Alana,

thanks for the answer. You are indeed correct, my concern is more on the weight of the cage to be distributed on a small piercing surface. If too thin I am worried it might damage the underlining tissue.

I would suggest a 4 gauge for any device as a minimum. 2 might be better for that design. Good luck with the device! Be sure to measure about a million times.

I had a 4 gauge for years but now have stretched to a 2 gauge. I would think a 6, or 4 would both work. For the initial piercing I would recommend a 10 or 8 gauge & then stretch to the larger gauges over time after fully healed.

Minimum 4 gauge, 2 gauge would be better. Ask SW about it.

I have a Steelwerks Schandmaske and support that with a 6 gauge piercing. That was the smallest Chris at Steelwerks recommended. I have a curved barbell, an L shaped barbell and the padlock all from Steelwerks.

I was pierced with a 10 gauge needle and the piercer put in an 8 gauge ring. About a year and a half later, we stretched it to a 6 gauge. I wear a 6 gauge ring with my Steelwerks. I would not want to go any smaller.
