This is something we have yet to be able to decide on. Should I be allowed to unlock (specifically) for gym? Please do share how you feel about it, we would love to know!

    I voted "Nay".
But some cages can pinch painfully, which I found out the hard way, if you'll pardon the pun.

Thank you for your response! Would I be right to say that your vote would be for a Nay in general unless the cage pinches?

Personally, i consider risk of injury stupid for the sake of chastity.

However, easy gym work outs are NOT risky for me and my wife does not see the gym as an unlocking excuse. So i shower there too.

Bicycle riding us strictly an unlocking affair.

Thank you for your response! Exactly why we are so undecided. I figure the factors to consider are, what I’ll be working on, the nature of the workout/sport and the risk of injury involved.

Usually I am unlocked for gym occasions because my kind of workout includes such things when being in chastity makes everything really difficult. Of course you have to be trusted not to cheat while being uncaged.

Gym workouts are not a problem for me so I voted an nay. I can also do a 20 mile bike ride without problem however anything longer than that would probably start to become problematic.

@SubPeter @littleguy3 Thanks for your responses!
So it is about the nature of the workout/sport and the potential risk of injury involved. I figure the answer to whether I should be allowed to unlock for gym might not be a one size fits all.

Yes, I think you are right. It also depends on how comfortable your cage is. I imagine horseback riding would be really challenging. But I can't think of anything in most gyms that would be problematic.

I’m locked in stainless steel and have no prior experience with cages of other materials. Based on my short experience with chastity this past 10 days tho’, and with all the reasons and motivation to identify a gym workout that would justify unlocking, I haven’t been able to. Running maybe?

I’m going to start going a couple of times a week. I’m going to try to go locked first as to not upset our routine. If need be I’ll unlock but ultimately I think depending on the workouts you’re doing being locked in a quality device that won’t break or strain you in any way should be totally fine.

    I couldn’t agree more.

My unlockings are almost exclusively for health and hygiene purposes. If deemed unhealthy or dangerous, it comes off. If merely a convenience matter, it stays on.

Thank you for your response! I did some upper body workout locked in stainless steel with no issues to complain about. With lower body workouts and running tho’, those I’m a little worried about.

    Wise man you are.

Another perspective: How MUCH can one possibly work out to mean you weren’t chaste most of the time?

I’m wearing a classic ball trap cage at the moment. Going to the gym is to help get me back into my behind Barz belt. I’m planning on wearing boxer briefs and I think that will be enough support. With the belt it won’t be a problem because I know it will stay in place. I took a several mile hike wearing my behind bars belt and it was perfectly comfortable.

This is one simple but wise advise every locked lad should follow. Having been caught up with finding myself an excuse, I might have overlooked the least complicated but most logical solution to the question.

What I have on me now is a stainless steel ball trap device. If necessary, I might consider getting one of those I would assume to be lighter plastic ones, for my longer distance run. Might be useful for swimming as well.

Lighter is probably better in terms of a ball trap style, I think that’s a good idea. Only thing I don’t like about the plastic ones is that they tend to smell funny quickly. I would want to be able to switch back out to my steel cage. Even though my full belt is heavy, like I said it stays in place and I don’t really notice the weight once it’s on.

I don’t think I’ll be trying the full belt as it looks really huge, bulky and heavy to me. But by the looks of the belts, they do seem to be able to keep everything in position, where the parts are supposed to be.

I'd say no. But definitely depends on what your working out. I mainly lift weights and I can wear my cage on any workout routine I do. That being said sometimes i don't wear it for leg days. Other than that I usually wear it for the gym with no second thoughts.

Thank you for your response! Do you face problems with the cage working out your legs tho’?

Actually for doing smith squats feeling the cage on my and the weight of it actually helps me squat better in form. Since one of the best descriptions I was told for squatting was that you want to try to place your junk behind your ankles when squatting and the extra weight of the cage gives me a reminder of that and where my junk is in relationship to where I'm at in the squat.

Only movement I'd prob recommend removing the cage for on leg day that I sometimes remove or not wear it for the gym is glute hip thrusts when you have the bar over your pelvis. I've done them before with cage on but you can bend the cage or break it if it plastic and or really pinch any skin that just so happens to find itself between the bar and the cage. Especially if you can do a lot of weight on that. But all Other exercises for legs that I do, it does not get in the way, no more than any other day to day activity from work.

    What's a gym? ;-)

Seriously though, I've done swimming pools, golf, cycling and survival courses all caged. Survival courses = escape from a mock helicopter crash underwater, climb into a life raft, put on a full harness and abseiling gear, hoisted, firefighting, first aid, and more.

Thank you for the very informative reply! It seems the majority of the voters too are more inclined to agree with the opinion that largely, gyming does not justify the need for one to be unlocked. Haha!

Thank you for your response! Wow these are some hardcore activities you’ve enagaged in with your appendage locked! I probably would not have the stomach for the survival course, locked or unlocked. Haha!
