    Hey everybody,

In the context of my - long - introduction post ( https://www.chastitymansion.com/for...post-cage-induced-erectile-dysfunction.49667/) I'd like to start a new thread here (you can also comment in the first thread) to focus and narrow down on some main questions I have:
    • At this point I think there's a good chance that wearing the cage could have caused my pudendal nerve to be damaged causing ED...so my question is: is there anyone who's had or knows people who've had this? Anyone with issues of erectile dysfunction that coincided with some subtle pain and irritation (and sometimes itch) that both lasted for at least a week after a considerably short amount of time (like with me 20 hours) in a cage that, looking back, might have been to short in length? Did it heal on it's own? And how long did that take?

    • Is there any (scientific or anecdotal) info I can find regarding my situation that might be helpfull?

    • What are your thoughts on this article: https://washingtoncitypaper.com/art...s-in-a-chastity-device-cause-longterm-damage/ saying: "What would Dr. King advise a patient who asked him about wearing a male chastity device? “As a urologist, my primary concern is long-term health and preservation of erectile function ‘down the road,’ so I tend to err on the cautious side, especially in someone young with many good erections ahead of him,” said Dr. King. “So if LOCKED came to my clinic with this question, I’d certainly caution against any long-term or continuous use of such a device, anything more than four to six hours, if it places any significant compression on the tissue directly.”" ?
Like I said in my introduction post, while I acknowledge that sleeping with the cage on after my very first 6 hours of wearing it (even though it was without any issues up untill that point) might not have been the brightest idea, the pain was subtle enough for me to just write it off as my body needing to get used to the cage...so I'm a bit baffled that something like that could cause me to have erectile dysfunction for like a week now.

And yes, I'll be visiting a doctor (my GP to refer me to a urologist) soon even though it's a big hurdle for me (see thread on introduction post) , but I guess hearing some perspectives from those with hand-on experience on this forum makes me more prepared for that.

I'm aware this post might reek of some desperation, but I am indeed somewhat desperate atm, to give some context: partly due to my autism and OCD (which manifests in unhealthy obsessive thinking about existential questions among other things and general feelings of unsafety) I've had some difficulties socially (hard to connect my inner world with others) also causing me to have never had a girlfriend and still be a virgin, and the last 6 months or so I've really taken steps to improve myself (got personal coaching, consulted a psychologist, visited various workshops teaching authenticity, family constellations etc.), and I wanted to make this the year to get better with women.

But ever since I found out about femdom and chastity cages I have been quite drawn into it, I discovered a part of my sexuality I didn't realise could be so strong, but at a certain point I was like: 'For now I want to lay 100% of my focus on improving myself (not in a toxic self hating way, but from a place of love) and my relationship with myself and others and to not have my thoughts be clouded by chastity fantasy so much', so I figured the best way to get it out of my mind (and also to be more prepared for whenever I might want to introduce it into a relationship) would be to try it on for a weekend, to just get as much experience in it as possible in an as short amount of time as possible so I could focus on other important things after that ASAP. So yes, this kinda explains why I went in 20 hours right away (including the night) an persisted despite some subtle pain and inconveniences.

So to now live with the idea that I might never have a proper erection again (without subscription to meds or something) because of permanent damage to my penis and that this will always be at least somewhat of an issue for my future girlfriend(s) makes me feel kinda stressed out and like something that I can only describe as existentially disillusioned....it's incredibly demotivating.

But yeah...thanks for reading this far, appreciate it.

I have no knowledge of wearing a chastity cage causing thus issue, but I do know of injuries from mountain biking, dirt bike racing, and long distance street motorcycle racing causing this issue.

Yeah, from what I understand it's pretty unusual with a chastity cage...but the unusual seems to have happened to me...

When I first started wearing a cage it was a Holy Trainer V2. I had some mild issues with edema because the cage wasn’t a perfect fit. It would take good 48-72 hours for the Edema to show up. It wigged me out so much never having experienced that before. I thought I couldn’t get a solid erection after that. Only reason I couldn’t get a good erection was because of my mental state. Once I calmed down and the swelling went away I could get myself in the right mindset and everything turned out to be fine. I’ve been wearing cages of types and sizes for over 8 years and have had no issues caused by the cages. My advice is to take a moment to calm down, don’t touch your self for a day or two and then watch some porn you like and see how things go. Your cage would’ve had to been very tight to cause that problem and probably worn longer than 20 hours. You’d know if it was to tight.

I’m not a doctor, but it seems highly unlikely that wearing a chastity device, even if poorly fitted for the 20 hours you described would have done any permanent damage to you.

You mentioned some personal challenges, sexual arousal is mostly driven by our brains, any anxiety could be a real reason why anyone would have trouble getting an erection.

My suggestion is take your time, relax and don’t randomly try for an erection, let it happen when your brain is saying, hey I feel sexy right now.

If you had nerve damage you would feel numbness in your penis. The penis is a really tough organ and even if you were to damage/inflame the nerve, the feeling should come back in a few days up to a few weeks. Some people purposely strangulate the penis with extreme banding which will make it go numb for a few days but most of the feeling returns in a few days to a week and full recovery in a few weeks.

I seriously doubt you injured it to the point that you won’t recover in a few days. If you had major bruising or a change in shape, I’d worry. If anything, I’d ask doc to run a hormone panel to check total T, free T, estrodiol (e2) and prolactin.

Thanks for sharing, I'm aware that mental state could play a roll in ED but I've had periods in my life I felt even more stressed out but becoming erect has never been a problem, right untill the night of januari 28 getting rock solid erections on command (or out of my control) has always been the easiest thing in the world, hell, it even took me some time to put the cage on because every time I tried it on it was a matter of seconds before I got another boner, it's completely different now + this slightly irritating feeling in my penis that I've had for a week along with ED I think has little to do with my mental state.

I've been doing that for 3 days now - 3 days ago I masturbated to give myself an orgasm to test if that still works and it did but it felt kinda weird and unnatural because my penis couldn't even get half as hard (again, an issue I've never experienced before) - I can still get turned on like before (albeit a bit less because of the stress I guess), it's just that the penis still doesn't want to cooperate.

Looking back it probably was tighter then it should have been or I wouldn't have those (subtle) pains in the penis, but that begs the question: how much too tight untill it can cause (ED) problems? Again, I felt no problems within the first six hours before I went to sleep.

Wow, I didn't know that was a thing, makes you wonder how people who purposely strangulate their penis don't damage it but me wearing a cage (supposedly) do, do you think that is a good comparison though (banding with steel chastity cage?) I can only assume that people who do that are experienced and knowledgeable enough in doing that as to not cause any damage...but I dunno...
It's been a week already....anyway I don't really think my penis' shape (looking from the outside) has changed that much apart from it being a bit more wrinkled (I guess because of the compression of a 2.8 inch penis in a 1.8 inch cage) and it often looks more flaccid than normal.
Could wearing a chastity cage the way (and time) I did effect those hormone levels?

In all of my reading over the last six months as well as in my discussions with my primary care physician, ED problems from these devices has NEVER been reported.

My stepdaughter has similar OCD and anxiety issues to what you describe. Her response to stressful situations is very similar to your thread here. If you’re really worried about this, see your GP and stop taking advice from the internet. No good can come from asking people their opinions and obsessing on the matter. Focus on fixing the problem- that starts with the doctor, not this thread.

My recommendation is to have faith that there have been literally no reports of this occurring in anyone. Find something else to occupy your thoughts until your GP appointment. Worrying about a problem only makes it worse. Focus your energy on fixing problems that you have the power to fix. Would you spend eight hours trying to fix your fridge if you had no ether the tools or expertise to do so? Of course not. You’d call the repairman and let them sort it out. Stop worrying- there’s nothing that you can gain from obsessing.

If you are really worried then a visit to the doctor, or emergency room, should be a priority.

Go to a urologist, get answers and stop guessing. If there is true physical damage don’t go to long without seeing a doc.

I will, and I'm kinda expecting them to advice against wearing a chastity device (taken into consideration all those articles from urologists who advice against wearing it), but only one way to find out I guess...

In the UK Daily Mail is know as The Daily Fail. At best it's a comic but really it's just stupidity in a blog. Famously, someone once said; Just farted so long and hard that my voice recognition software wrote a Daily Mail column.

The other blog isn't worth commenting on since it's Savage Love writer is slightly less serious than The Daily Fail.

I was hoping you had something credible.

the DailyMail article is discussing devices that prevent blood flow. So overly tight base rings and cock rings. This has nothing to do with a properly sized cage and is therefore irrelevant to this discussion unless you disregarded all relevant sizing advice from manufacturers and the wonderful/helpful people on this forum.

the second article is the ONLY article I could find on the internet that had a medical doctor cautioning against long term use. I had read this article last year, which prompted me to do a lot more research before diving into this very fun activity. The doctor didn’t have any specific medical reason, other than his gut reaction and need to protect himself from lawsuits, to share. I would have expected a more detailed explanation from a medical professional with anatomy-based descriptions of why/how it could go wrong. You’ll note that the end of the article quotes someone with significant long-term experience on the matter, who said it’s fine if done correctly. Again, anecdotal, but carried a lot of weight in my decision as the doctor HAS to cover his butt to prevent lawsuits.

I also did a search on this website early on and found maybe one or two references to ED. None are confirmed to be caused by this action and are therefore anecdotal- but are of interest. If there was a definitive (even casual) link- I personally believe I would have found it or would have seen enough evidence to make me concerned. I didn’t find anything, anywhere convincing me to avoid this.

as with any activity- the more extreme you make it, the larger the risk. Combine this with the inherent differences in everyone’s anatomy and brains/emotions and we get completely different responses to the same action. What works for one doesn’t for another.

Your persistence on this matter suggests that you aren’t looking for honest advice, but for people to confirm your belief, reinforce your kink, write a paper, or build a lawsuit…can’t tell which. Just like the articles you presented above, no one here will tell you that this is an entirely safe decision without any risk. I won’t even tell you that walking to work is without risk. There are too many unknowns and variables for definitive statements, and too many lawyers looking to make money from people who do make those statements. All we have/know is what “we” collectively have experienced. No medical doctor will go on record to say it’s entirely safe. Just like no person here will either.

Good luck with your appointment- I really do hope it’s all in your head. Either way though, please do let everyone know as we’re concerned for you and want to learn from your experiences to make everything safer. Take care-

    LMAO xD

I was specifically referring to the part where a urologist was quoted:

"What would Dr. King advise a patient who asked him about wearing a male chastity device? “As a urologist, my primary concern is long-term health and preservation of erectile function ‘down the road,’ so I tend to err on the cautious side, especially in someone young with many good erections ahead of him,” said Dr. King. “So if LOCKED came to my clinic with this question, I’d certainly caution against any long-term or continuous use of such a device, anything more than four to six hours, if it places any significant compression on the tissue directly.”''

But yeah, one paragraph before that he said he cannot find a single reference in medical/urologist literature, so I guess the biggest problem is the lack of scientific research (with experimental data from people wearing chastity devices) in this area, I think doctors generally tend to be cautious because they don't want to be held liable in any way when things go wrong.

so, you’re more concerned about if you should wear the device than if you have caused permanent nerve damage and ED? If this has actually caused ED or you truly believe it has, why are you even worried about asking their opinion about wearing this cage? I guess I would have figured the ED would have scared you off from even needing to ask this question and certainly should scare you away from putting that contraption back on! Normally if I hurt myself in some way (and didn’t like it), I don’t go and do it again, even if I can’t prove it was directly related. Again- I do hope you’re doing ok. Enjoy your weekend!

You're right, this one isn't relevant, and I knew this when first reading but literally forgot about it when I posted it remembering it differently somehow, my bad.
Exactly, so maybe not really any urologist advising against it, just cautious in order to prevent the possibility of being sued in case something goes wrong.
I did find a few references to ED with chastity cages outside of this website too that where at least somewhat comparable to my actions (one of them suffered from ED for at least two months after just one night of wearing a tight chastity cage), but you're right, even if the actions are comparable enough our bodies might respond very differently.
That's clearly not true, why would that be the case? Like I did not once try to defend the content of those articles to argue against chastity as a whole, I merely shared them because I was concerned and wanted peoples' perspective on it here, and other than that I'm just sharing my experience, I really wish it was all between my ears but believe that I have some good reason to believe it's not by now (unless for instance this irritation in the penis is also actually purely psychological and not physical).

I understand that, I did not come here to ask you guys if wearing chastiy is 100% safe or for any kind of definitive statements, lol
Thanks, I appreciate that, will keep you guys updated.

Where did I say that? Obviously I'm more concerned about the possible damage...
If I was 100% sure it caused ED, yes, I wouldn't worry, I would probably never wear a cock cage again (or at the very least not this one), but the point is I don't know.

(and obviously as long as there's uncertainty about it I won't be wearing it either).

Still curious about this btw, anyone with average (or larger) penis size who wears a considerably shorter cage (making use of the compressibility of the penis) without any issues? Again, I read everywhere you have to substract 1/4 to 1/2 inch of your flaccid penis length to determine the right tube length, but I chose one with over 1 inch difference which seemed like a good balance between the general rule of max 1/2 inch difference and 1.8 inch difference - which it would have been if I went for a one inch cage - and that article did make quite a lot of sense to me.
