Short version of the issue, blood work showed my Psa at 6.65. Having a prostate biopsy 11/19. I am 51 so that number is pretty high. I know 3 out 4 biopsys are negitive. Still has me worried. Has anyone had the Transrectal biopsy?

    i'd
just overview your PSA frequently (twice a year if inferior at 4, once a month or each two monthes, just to be sure that's your norm or not)
my urologist (the best wellknown in france) know about the CB
    no matter of wearing it
no matter of no cuming (nocturnal emissions are about to do it)
just be care of peeing as soon as you need it
just be care about urinal infection (cleaning CB and sex frequently)
    i'd had Transrectal biopsy, nothing
but before, do a scanner to be sure there's nothing to analyze
it's cheaper (in france) and painfulless....

My PSA hovers around 15 for the past several years. My urologist says not to worry because my prostate gland is huge so my actual PSA is approximately 1

You can ask for dutusteride to lower DHT and it will make sleeping in a cage much more comfortable and will keep prostate small. Also prevents male pattern baldness.

I had the trans rectal biopsy done many years ago and it was the most painful thing I have ever had apart from a kidney stone. I hope your test comes back as negative (mine did).

I had a high PSA from the blood test. Subsequent investigations proved it was a false positive.
Turns out that jerking off the day before the blood test throw the result out.

The biopsy its self was PAINLESS. I was very surprised with that. I was sore for 3-4 days and very tire for about the same. The psa was checked twice. 6.65 and 7.25 where the numbers. The prostate is 30 grams and he felt nothing on the DRE.

Is that the same as Propecia? if so, then when taking it ne really sensitive to any high PSA level because the Propecia can mask "artificially lower" your PSA. Essentially making what would have been a high reading look normal.

As for the male pattern baldness benefit.. that actually works. I've been taking Propecia for over 20 years. My hairline now are exactly where it was when I started taking it - beginning to recede.

Of course, I started it after having both kids. it did effect the amount of (you know) I created. Of course that doesn't matter now that I'm always locked!

Small update. Biopsy came back negative! Having mri 1/24 due to psa being high for size of prostate. Have been unlocked since this started. Missing it. Biopsy was 11/19, still have some soreness especially after ejection.

Unfortunately, PSA is a poor marker for prostate cancer. The false positive (and negative) rate is significant. There is no data showing that PSA testing changes the outcome of men with prostate cancer. It does increase the number of procedures done, and therefore makes money for hospitals and urologists. Most male physicians do NOT check their own PSAs, which should tell you all you need to know.

Fantastic news that your biopsy was negative for prostate cancer. I had prostate surgery a year ago after they discovered my prostate was significantly enlarged, so much so that my bladder only ever emptied half its contents. I have a transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) and I am glad to say that it has solved 95% of my problems and my PSA count is back to a normal level.

As I recall dr said mine was about 40 grams. Which for my age I don’t think is out of line.
