Anyone have any idea where I could find an item like the one in the picture. I think it is called a D and O ring. The only ones I have located were extremely expensive and I hope to find something a little more budget friendly so I can make a few more paracord collars.

They would be perfect but the delivery charge makes it not cost effective. I am just going to guess that you can't buy this stuff over here anywhere.

I make them out of paracord and just knot right around the D portion of the ring sealing it into the collar. Here is my second attempt.

Nice looking collar. Could you make them so they lock on?

I have been looking for the right buckles for doing that but collar hardware seems to be hard to find.

Well good luck finding the pieces to make what you want. Are you going to wear one, regularly or just for play?

I would wear it daily if I lived somewhere different and had a different job but living where I do I would probably get fired and shunned. Anything out of the normal here gets you looked at funny and talked about a lot so I wear it when I can for now. I have been looking for a day wear one but can't find anything I like.

There are these on ebay.com. Shipping to UK is a lot but might be OK in US. Not sure if you get 6 items or the 6 means something else.

Otherwise, can you not buy the D ring or triangle separate to the O ring. Cut the D or triangle along the edge that will be hidden by the collar (very nice work by the way), open the cut a little then slip on the ring and close the joint up again.

Cutting them could work and could probably just leave the space open since it will be hidden by the collar weave.

When doing similar things, I have found it easier to open the gap by twisting the bits either side of the cut sideways rather than trying to pull them apart. Just put the opposite side of the D ring in a vice (with some packing to avoid damage), carefully twist the top bits sideways with pliers, slip the other ring through the gap and twist back. That should close the gap to its original size.

The thing you seek is called a "loop & ring"

One of my favorite hardware and findings suppliers has four sizes of them at under a buck each, and they have about ten different sizes and colors of locking buckles. Their minimum order is an extremely reasonable $25.

I have an old collar I am savaging parts from that I can get a trial buckle from, I am going to use the buckle from it to see if I can even get a locking buckle to work. If I I can i'll get some new ones and make something nice.
