Hey all, before I spend another four digits on a cock cage I wanted to check in about those unique security screws. I can pick the Burg Wachter mini locks but I'm wonder how hard it is to "unscrew" the security screws without a key. Thanks!
I've had my Lori's screw come out on its own BUT it was dead heading on the threads (hole was not deep enough). Also found with bare or oiled threads I could remove with a somewhat close security bit from the cheap tool store. But done right, with nail polish or the tiniest bit of blue Loctite (do NOT use Red) and it is very secure. I am 99% certain I would strip the relatively soft screw head with anything other than the correct key snapped in place properly. And I am not chancing that, which makes it 100% secure.
My Rigid Model 11 security screw doesn't move at all. I put Loctite Blue on it just to be sure, but even without, it's always stayed put. They put a torix T-20 security screw in, but I don't think most local hardware stores carry that bit, so you'd have to order it to get one. Eventually, I'd like a custom bit like the ones at Steelworks or Mature Metal. But MM doesn't support PAs yet
the burg on my rigid model 1 has a piece of cable running through the ID and a numbered security seal. Its pick proof and with the PA piercing there is 100% chance of no escape
My MCN security screw has never loosened on its own, we’ve been very pleased with this cage for the last year. Worth every penny, and it’s actually quite affordable for a semi custom cage
Safety screws are safe - very safe, in fact! If you look at the rims of a car, you will notice that these screws have their cone designed so that you can no longer get far with normal tools. Even special "cracking tools" have their trouble with these systems. Since usually really only the supplied tool fits and allows an opening. In any case, much safer than most locks!
I have the MM Watchful Mistress with the security screw. The good points are that is very discrete, no bulky padlock to try and hide; it cannot be removed with a standard torx or even a security torx. Every one is different I believe. The down side is that it is quite fiddly to put the screw in, and if not fully tightened then it becomes loose and there probably should be a spring washer in there, or put some thread lock. Other consideration is that the key is not key shaped but looks like a lump of metal, not exactly the kind of jewelery my Mistress Keyholder want to put around her neck
I use loctite purple on my screw. Not as strong as blue, but makes it so only the proper tool can open it. I've heard stories where too much loctite blue was used and it took me effort than I'd like to come off.
I have a MM model with a security screw and I can’t say I made a good effort to get it off without the “key”… but I couldn’t undo by hand or anything. After having one, I feel it is much better than a lock.
MM Queen's Keep with a security screw here too. I agree it's much more convenient than a lock for everyday wear (and for a while now it has been exactly that, no indication from her she's thinking about removing it any time soon). A while back I swapped the screw and key that came from MM for a torx-style security screw, as the old screw felt like it was starting to get stripped. I used to have problems with the screw loosening on its own, but putting a small wrap of teflon tape on the threads solved that problem. It stays tight as can be now. As an experiment, I did try using a pair of needle-nose vise grips to see if I could unscrew it without the security key/bit, and no dice.
Security screws are very secure. I've worn one in my Jailbird for sometime. Few things I would suggest if buying a device with a security screw: 1. Have the screwhead countersunk to prevent tampering with tools such as needlenose pliers. 2. Have a small hole drilled through the screw to thread a wire seal through. I believe MCN has this option. 3. Use blue or purple locktite on the threads to prevent the screw from loosening or backing out
My MCN device uses a countersunk security screw. I've been locked in it for over a year with releases weekly or semi-weekly. Never used Locktite. The threads are self-locking, so there's little need for additional security to prevent it backing out. I'm sure I could get the screw out if I wanted, with some effort, but that's true of virtually any device. It's a deterrent but it's not escape proof.
I have the security screw on my MCN mouse trap tube. Ms uses blue lox tire on the threads and fills the key hole with hot glue. Screw will not loosen and the glue prevents tampering. This works well since it hasn’t been off since March.
The new MCN security screw is fantastic, doesn’t budge and is compatible with the thread pitch that MM use.
I Wish you could get a security screw version of the internal lock you get on chastity devices, I quite like the idea of being screwed shut!
All you would need to do is put your device together without the cylinder lock, and use a machine screen threader. Your screw would be larger than normal, but it would work on a steel cage much better.
I’ve been wearing chastity with security screws for many years now. I prefer these to padlocks or brass cylinder locks. I’ve worn MaleChastityNow’s latest security screws since they introduced them last 2020. They are extremely high quality fasteners. My PA piercing is secured by one of these security screws in a recessed hole. It never comes free on its own. Ever. And perhaps just as important, the screw came free after three months untouched. MaleChastityNow’s PA mount design is a 3/8” (9.5mm) x 3/4” (19mm) cylinder of stainless steel that’s both smooth and compact. No snag points.
MaleChastityNow uses a cylinder that runs sideways for one of his designs that is screwed shut. It secures my PA. It is flush and smooth when screwed shut. He sells semi custom devices that replace the cage to base ring mount. There he uses a post and collar with a screw. Guys seem to like the semi custom devices.
We use a security screw and a lock nut. Tried it in an attempt to increase security. Kept it because it solved problems with noise, pinching and damaging clothing that kept happening with padlocks.
