    Hi.

Does anybody have a Igloohome Smart Keybox 3?

I am strongly considering to buy one, as I do sport many times each week where I need to be uncaged. I cannot count on my wife being present every time, and I do not want access to a key 24/7.

So I am very tempted by the "recurring pin" you can configure on the Keybox 3, however I cannot figure out what kind of schedules you can configure. E.g. can you do "every Monday and Wednesday from 16:00 to 17:00" or something similar?

I have searched A LOT to find this information, including reading the online manual, downloading the app, watching video reviews. But nobody goes into details about the recurring pin configuration.

Can anybody help? I do not want to use this kind of money, if it cannot do what I need :)

We have the older model but its the same app, so same features....But I never get to use the app because I dont know the password....Ill ask mistress to change it to something I know because I am not locked up right now...and see if i can get it to do what you want.

That said I went skiiing in my looker 2 and used to play soccer...

Sometimes my ball sack gets really tight and can hurt but other than that...wellllll

Anyways ill see if i can get mistress to give up control of her lock.

That would be really cool if you could, but I am not sure if you can see it. As far as I can read the recurring pin is a new feature in version 3.

I am not sure how often I need to unlock for sports, but at least when I go swimming in the public pool :)
And very likely also for my long sessions as well (several hours of duration).

    Really apricate the help :)

I have one but like was said, I am not on that end of the process. My Mistress (@Destiny103181) gives me a pin number when I need the keys, I never see the app associated with the lockbox.

I guess I'm too low-tech, but my emergency key is inside an ice cube in the freezer. It can be thawed in a few minutes if necessary, but it requires some thought and action to do so. It's the safest and most way efficient for us.

You can create weekly recurring PINs if you get the model 3.

    upload_2021-2-15_9-7-54.png

What I’m not sure about is how to select the day of the week in the app. It seems to only allow it for the current day of the week. So it may take some work to set up, and you’d definitely need to have a different PIN for each day of the week. But it looks doable.

As I mentioned in another thread, we’re using this product for its vanilla purpose, otherwise I’d do some experimenting and report back. But it should be usable for regular weekly access.

Our purpose is a bit different, as I need the key for doing sports several times a week, and this would be a bit cumbersome ;)

    Thanks a lot!!

It might take some days to set up, but as long as it is doable I am happy.

    Once again, thanks

Ahhh, I see. You're right, it's different if you know in advance when you will need to be unlocked.

I got mine today, I played around with it together with my wife (on her phone). You can set up weekly pin codes like “Monday 16:00 to 17:00”, you cannot specify multiple days, but we solved it by making a pin code for each of the days. You set the day of the week, by selecting a start date on that week day.

We tried out all of the different features, so I can aswer if somebody have questions.

The box is mounted, and I do not have the password for the app, so no more playing around with it from now on.

I would like to ask about the Bluetooth method of unlocking. If I understand correctly, first, the keyholder pairs the Igloohome 3 with an app on her phone. To unlock, she generates an unlock code. How does that get to the lockbox? From her phone, via my phone, via my phone's Bluetooth the lockbox?

If so, how does the code get to her phone from mine? Do we have to be connected to each other in realtime? Or can she send the code, and I access it later?

This looks to be an interesting & useful way to keep the keys locked. Looking forward to hearing more. I should state, we don't live near each other.

Thanks in advance for whatever info you have.

The KH needs to pair the box with a app on her phone initially.

It sounds like you are asking about “one times pins”, e.g. pincodes that are generated and can only be used once.

Theese codes can be generated while the KH is NOT connected to the box, and the code must be used within a single hour, and can only be used once. There is a button inside the app so send the pin via messenger, sms and similar. Once you receive the pin, you just enter it on the front and it opens.

The way this works is by a predictable key generation algorithm. So each hour the box and the app generates 5 new pin codes, but using the same algorithm, theese keys will be similar. This is why the pairing is needed, to sync the key generation algorith.

Please ask again, if this does not answer your question.

Thank you for the reply. Well, 2 questions now. LOL

So, when generating a one-time PIN, that is always good for only 1 hr? But this is not the Bluetooth option, right?

How does the Bluetooth option work? I thought that was a method where I don't actually see a code, and the lockbox is unlocked via Bluetooth. Maybe I am misunderstanding that option.

Yes, one time pins are always 1 hour. You can create pin codes with different intervals, but that requires bluetooth connection from the KH.

Bluetooth keys also requires KH connectivity, as you specify a custom inter for the key.

I short, if the KH is out of range, only singly use 1 hour keys can be generated.

However if KH is in range, you can do a lot of advanced pin codes.

You can generate duration PINs also, which are good for a certain length of time. You don’t need to be in Bluetooth range to do that. So your KH could send you a code that would make the key available to you for, say, three hours next Tuesday.

Thank you! I wasn't clear about the Bluetooth. Seems like for our use, if we get one, the PIN code generator would be the operable option. Looks promising.

Absolutely. It may be a new feature with version 3. It’s a big selling point as it doesn’t rely on any kind of connectivity — no Bluetooth or WiFi needed, after the initial pairing with a phone.

Could this be used by a long distance key Holder? Meaning they don't have the lock and phone near each other even in the begining? I'm mean connect it from distance. Can it be operated from a browser from keyholder or only by app?

My KH (@Destiny103181) had to pair her device to the lockbox before sending it to me, sorry.

It has to be paired using bluetooth initially. And it only works with the app, no browser.
