I got my PA piercing back in late October, just about 4 months ago. It's still very tender most days and just about every morning I wake up with a little bit of lymph crust at the piercing site and on the ring.

It feels WAY better than the first few weeks after it was initially pierced, and I admit that I forget to do salt water soaks on days that it doesn't bother me, but is 4+ months of healing excessive? Most of the stuff I'm seeing on internet searches says 4-6 weeks. My partner is getting antsy to start having sex again and I was hoping to get some play time of my own in before my Rigid Chastity device arrives.

I think you should talk to your piercer, possibly change the jewelry, in particular the radius of the jewelry as a tight radius may cause some rubbing inside the piercing. To be honest, I was pretty much healed after a couple of weeks, but that was just my experience. Is there redness or tenderness right at the piercing sight or does all the tenderness feel like it is inside the piercing?

It's a little red at the piercing site, and the skin is raised up around the ring. I'll call the piercer in the morning and see if changing the jewelry might help. The ring is a little on the small/tight side when I'm hard, so at night and in the morning is when I notice it mostly.

If I had to guess, you need a larger radius jewelry. I 3D printed jewelry with different radius sizes and noticed that the radius. Can make a big difference. Your piercer will know much better than me.

Yep as mentioned above .... check that radius.

I also found that wearing tight underwear caused a lot of irritation by folding the ring over and putting some pressure on the piercing while moving around.

You may also want to make sure you have a very good quality ring and of a material that you are not having a reaction to. Some of the cheaper rings I have purchased turned out to have some minor blemishes or rough spots that cause irritation when the ring spins around in there. Some I have had an allergic reaction to where all the skin around it became discolored ..... which went away within 24 hours of removing it.

That diameter though, check that first .. think about it .... if it is too small, when you are getting hard like at night when you are sleeping ... it may not be enough pain to wake you, but certainly enough to cause irritation that can help prevent overall healing. ymmv.

    Good luck.

Check the diameter for sure. You can also wear a bent barbell in the appropriate gauge to keep hole open but have no pulling or pinching on your penis

As others have said, mine was completely healed in a couple of weeks.

Something is definitely wrong after 4 months. Talk to your piercer.

A PA doesn't generally need special salt or antiseptic washing, just drink plenty of fluids and rotate the ring as you piss (which also means it won't be in the same position for more than a few hours at a time so nothing should stick to it). Check that the inside of the ring itself is clean at least once a day as that's where anything will accumulate.

A side-effect of London tapwater that I've never seen mentioned elsewhere is that limescale builds up and causes irritation, but it can be scraped off easily (but carefully!). I have two rings the same size (6mm x 19mm) which I alternate about every six months and put the old one in some descaler for a day to get it thoroughly clean of limescale behind the ball where it's impossible to clean completely while installed.

You have to clean it daily and keep any crust from binding to the jewelry. Wash daily with antibacterial soap and water as hot as you can stand then dry well and maybe add a little antibiotic cream to it. You can always go to smaller jewelry to let it heal then stretch slowly after it heals. Mine was done at 16g and healed quickly. My piercer insisted not doing larger than 16g and he is the best in Houston and has a PA himself.

    8g

I went from boxer briefs to just regular boxers after about 2 days of not being able to walk from my car to my work building without looking like an injured animal.

I've definitely cleaning it daily with saline/salt water per my piercer's instructions. He said not to put anything on it that I wouldn't put in my eye, but that was probably meant for those first 4-6 weeks. Getting the crust off is easy enough, but the fact that it's still accumulating after this long has me concerned.

I have an appointment this week, so we'll see what they say. I'm going to ask about switching to a bent barbell, but it sounds like a ring might be better for a little longer, so I can rotate it to remove crusties.

I disagree. I think a round ring is better. The horseshoe gets one end stuck down the urethra and the other dnd dangles hanging n becomes uncomfortable and then you have to arrange it back right but they always wiggle back. The ring just twists around n even if the ball does go in its genlly the same dia as the ring so doesnt hurt as much.

You have 2 problems here: size and material. Not everyone can use 316 steel. I would bet that a PTFE banana of suitable size will fix your main problems within 2 weeks.
    After healing, continue with titanium.

Update: I saw the piercer. He agreed that it was probably the diameter and moved me up a size. It was fine while flaccid, but pinched a bit too much during those night boners.

Thanks again for all the help and suggestions!

Going commando worked best for me ..... loose fitting silk boxers worked great as well.

I found that the tighter fitting underwear caused the ring to get pressed sideways and would put stress on the piercing especially as things naturally expanded and contracted throughout the day. I am guessing that the ring would also kind of get pinched and would then tug on the piercing when sitting or squatting or whatever might cause your pants to get tight there against your leg or groin or wherever your ring is at that time.

    ymmv

I have my piercing stretched to a 2 gauge but my KH double locks a 4 gauge padlock thru the PA when Caged. It seems to allow some movement without discomfort. For a couple of years she used a small 8 gauge padlock but it constantly pinched. Took 3 months to get to larger gauges, but, definitely worth it.

I have okay at an 8 Gauge because my device is light, but with tugs here and there soliciting pain, I will probably go to a 6 gauge. I am hoping that my piercing stays plugged enough with the PA hook that I still per out of one hole.

Good luck with that .... I found that over time mine stretched out enough to where I definitely get a double stream coming out. Which is fine if you don't mind sitting down to go #1. It can be a hassle when out in a public restroom and all the stalls are full ..... and of course they are nastay too ugh.

A little work around if I am not locked up is just to take the ring out and put my finger over the piercing hole .. no big deal. If I am locked in my Bijou, it just kind of dribble out off the front end ..... so again not really a big deal to stand and go if needed.

    ymmv
