Thank you, I wasn't aware of that. We do have "harvest festival" here. Not sure if it has a specific date (sorry, not a religious person). There are harvest festival services in the churches and food is donated and distributed to people in need! I remember that as a school boy we would distribute food to "old folks" that was donated via the school!
Mum would pull all the stuff out of the larder and send you to school with a can of soup or spam or sardines in tomato sauce
Perhaps you meant "religious rebels, assorted adventurers, and deported criminals". You might have quietly celebrated their departure at the time.
