Real life seldom makes its way into our little world here, but I just went through something millions worldwide have and wanted to share. I was on my way to work, took my first sip of coffee, a bit bitter and odd tasting but hey, maybe the cream went sour. I lit a smoke and was on my way and was about to roll down the window...o couldn’t smell my cigarette. In an enclosed truck it should have been overwhelming, I couldn’t smell a thing. Oh shit. Covid. Initially it didn’t feel like a big deal, symptoms kind of like a cold, then the lungs started to fill up but unable to really hack anything out of them. Then the self reality check...I’m in my late 40’s, and have smoked for over 30 years, I might be one of the ones that don’t get better. I wore a mask and dropped my son off at his mothers, realizing that if things go bad, I may never see him again. I isolated at home, my wife stayed away as much as she could while I stayed in the living room. Watching the news, hospitals in my area were running out of space, someone I knew was sent home to isolate with an oxygen tank, and as my symptoms got worse my worry grew. Luckily, I started to feel better and I’m over the hump. It was a heck of a time, and fortunately we were financially stable enough to have the space, food, supplies, and ability to pay bills throughout. Ps...I didn’t even get Covid pity recovery sex lol
I am sorry to hear about that Nic but I am happy you are feeling better. Good reminder for all of us that this is still happening and we need to take it seriously especially with the holidays coming up. Thank you for sharing your story.
Wow, scary but so glad you recovered without having to endure more extensive treatment. A good reminder to be as careful as you can be, and follow health officials guidance for covid. Hopefully vaccines are soon available to help but we all need to remain careful as we make our way through the coming winter.
Glad you're feeling better, @Nicoftime! Thanks for the timely reminder of how serious this can be. Congrats to your Dominant for staying strong through this and avoiding any pity sex. Hilarious! asa
Glad you are on the mend. My BFF is 51 and gor really sick with it but didn’t get hospitalized. He says he still hasn’t fully recovered though as he still gets winded easily and it’s been 3 or 4 months.
Glad to hear you are recovering! Stay safe and hopefully your wife will not develop symptoms!! To everybody else, mask up, wash your hands, and stay socially distant!
Happy to hear you are on the mend. I might have given over to the pity sex under these circumstances. Stay safe
I’m also very glad you pulled through. And your note is a good reminder that the pandemic is still going on, and we all need to be careful. True, the majority of people get better and just have a crappy week or two; but for too many, it gets far worse and Its the high risk people we all need to be mindful of and look out for.
I am glad you are feeling better. I was unlucky to have caught covid too I was lucky it didn't affect my chest as i'm an asthmatic and I probably wouldn't have survived as i'm no stranger to ICU. It did however affect my eyes and I now see double so still can't work. Worrying Times indeed.
@Nicoftime : WOW! I am glad that you are recovering and that corona didn't get too much of a grip on you. Be safe and sound!
