I’m in the birdlocked mini now, and I’m looking to go micro or nub, but I’m struggling to find a quality cage that has external lock. I tend to use plastic ID locks for the safety of escaping and because of distance to partner. Any suggestions?

    I meant internal. Not internet.

Get an integrated lock with a through-hole, drill out your device, and then security lock the integrated lock.

That sounds like it would work, but I kind of have no idea what any of that means. I’m not good with my hands.

So your lock looks like this? If you search, you'll find them made hollow, such that you could pass your plastic ID lock through it. You would probably need to drill your device so the plastic ID lock could pass through the internal lock and the cage.

Incidentally, when I searched "birdlocked mini," all that came up were cages with external padlocks.

I personally prefer internal locks to cut down on noise, form, and weight. I have a small key holding box where I can place my emergency key inside and use a plastic numbered lock to prevent access. Still available in an emergency, but my KH would know.

You could also get a small plastic bag, small enough to where the key won’t rotate inside it, then puncture the bag with your disposable lock going through the keyhole to lock the key.

Tamper seal stickers on an envelope would also work

if you want to use a device with an internal lock you could still lock away the key with the help of one of your plastic ID locks...

I have never seen a plastic lock like that before. Where can it be found, and what device uses it?

I see them on dhgate. They appear to be the same dimensions as the brass "magic" locks.
