Does the underlying forum software provide an option for letting users mute threads? I find I use "New Posts" pretty much everyday to keep up with things. But there are some threads I never want to read (3 word story and Word game are examples -- just not for me, but they are constantly receiving new posts -- there's also the occasional topic that, while I don't object to (I'm a live and let live guy), I don't want to read). Would be nice if I could mark such threads "mute" and then they wouldn't show up in New Posts (though presumably I could go find them in the listing of all forum threads should I want to change my mind). Another option that would be a button next to the listing of a thread for "mark read". That's not as nice -- it's not one and done, but would have to be clicked each time a thread showed up in New Posts, but at least I wouldn't have to open the thread and wait for the page to update, then return, for it to be marked "read". This is just a small convenience, and given all the volunteer work L-u-c-y and the other administrators do on our behalf, I completely understand if implementing something like this isn't worth it (if it's even possible).
It's not possible at the moment, but I'll have a look into it. If it's a case of installing a simple add-on it might happen, but if it's difficult it won't : )
Thanks for the quick reply, and for considering this @L-u-c-y. No problem if not worth it or not feasible.
If it is possible to not have threads from subforums whose visibility you've toggled off show up in the New Threads section, that would be a way to somewhat solve that issue.
