Im making my own device similar to the glans armor. Just wanted to post up some pics of progress so far. Not sure if this is the right place to post this.
I can't tell you were to post either, there really isn't a generic device section. Looks like nice work, would you go into more detail about it's construction.
Have a machinist at work that has his own lathe and other equipment at his house so I had him make the ring at 1 1/16 I'd with and od I think of 1.385“. I used 1/8" 316 ss tig filler rod as the bars bent then and inserted them into place. The final will have another ring at the end where the bars are just hanging out right now and a press it on. Maybe solder the joints with silver solder. Just have to see how the press fit will be. I'll post back with the finished product. Still need to figure out the lock mechanism still.
This thing is starting to turn out nice. Next is the lock mechanism. I'll post back with an update when I get that figured out
May not be happy with the design. Have 4 more rings made up to make a few more designs to fit my liking. I'll keep posting updates as I keep innovating my perfect device.
That is nice work, I am doing some custom work on a similar basis, it has prompted me to take some photos and write a short post up on my own work in case that is also of interest. However, comparing the two, the quality of your work beats mine which is a bit rough and ready. Finally figured out a lock mechanism gonna test it out with the screw for a while then notch the nylon spacers for a magic lock.
Another interesting idea just came to mind since the nylon is insulating, I could hook the PA hook to estim and the cage to estim. Hmm wonder how that would feel might have to try that out soon .
Looks very well made! Isn't it a little bit heavy for a PA to be the only means of support? Just an observation not a criticism!
No not at all. It's small enough that it grabs my shaft when flaccid so the PA is only supporting a little, just keeping things in place
Is it riveted or welded? If you welded it, I would be interested in some pointers for welding small stainless steel stuff.....
It's just press fit right now. As I don't have a tig. It's not easy to take a part. So once on ur not getting it apart on ur body.
