    you dont even need your own 3d printer. There are some amazing 3d printing services that are not that expensive

    They are getting cheaper all the time, one day I’ll have one. Don’t think I’d go somewhere and have them print me a cage lol

    I have posted everything I have designed on Thingiverse, and they are all available there (username JosieLynn). I was really surprised when I looked at my dashboard there as I'd had several dozen notifications regarding the new fun device.
    I wouldn't mind posting them here as well, or even modified designs for folks - I've had a few requests already actually...

    Thank you for the kind words - I'll try to be helpful if you have a couple questions.

    One thing I figured out on my own was making sure that the design was "compatible" with 3D printing. I want my stuff to be easy to print without crazy support structures and I want nice clean areas where it would come into contact with the body. One of the very first cage designs had the lock sticking out the back of the cage toward the ring, which made it awkward to print cleanly and left a rough surface.

    I may be able to keep using the same base rings and come up with more cage designs quickly if there are some cool designs that might be fun.

    It is always amazing to me the differences that a few tweaks to a drawing ... and ... the difference in prints ability (quality) can make to a print.

    The ring I sent JosieLynn was poorly drawn (back when I was getting used to FreeCAD) today I could redraw it and create a much better file.

    I started with a cheap XYZ printer, now I have the mid grade Flash Forge Creator Pro and the print settings you can control and the printers ability to print overhangs makes all the difference in the world (little to no supports needed).

    CM does not allow stl files to be uploaded ... example.stl
    there are other 3D file types but stl should be the only file really needed to add to ALLOWED file types ...
    Unless you do to want to allow members to upload stl files .... and only have a thread area to discuss
