I am about to place an order for a MM jailbird. However when it comes to the locking mechanism I'm torn, I like not having a pad lock sticking out but Madame Belle has become quite attached to having a key on her necklace, we both are wondering what type of key comes with the security screw? Will it fit on a necklace? Is it better than a standard lock and key?

I'm about to drop 500 bucks on this thing and I really don't want to get it wrong.

    Cheers

My wife hated the CBs because of the big lock. The Holy Trainer allowed us to spoon without discomfort for her. For the same reason we chose the screw. I don't have a picture and she's away but the cylindrical shape of the key is elegant and raises way more questions compared to her Tiffany's key or when she wore the padlock key.

I have about every bit for screwdrivers, but none fitted the screw. If you really want to cheat, a pair of pliers will do but that works for a lock as well.

There is a disadvantage however. If you use a security pin in combination with the screw, it is quite a hassle to keep the pin in place while aligning the hole in the cage, the screw hole and screw.

We chose the security screws because we felt it was less bulky than a lock and more secure as a lock could be cut off much easier. Including the ring, it’s 2” long

Too late for an edit. I have both the single and double base rings. My personal opinion is that the single ring is on the verge of being unsuitable for longer term wear while the double one is very comfortable.

It's your decision. The absence of a lock makes it hardly noticeable, but it also illustrates the value of advice of others. If you enjoy it that other might detect your device, go for the pad lock. If a screw feels like something that can be cheated upon easily, my advice is useless. I can only share experiences. I'm happy with the screw, so is my wife as it doesn't hurt her butt when we spoon in bed but she had to get used to the attention the screw key attracts.

We ordered them at the same time as the majority of the costs were import duties and shipping. At a small premium we had both. I wore the single one for a week and it caused scratches and small wounds. We changed to the double ring and never looked back.

Note that most padlocks small enough for a device can be opened with a paperclip in a few seconds.

The idea behind a device is to make access difficult in a moment, and hard to defeat without detection.

My wife did not like the padlock at all. Said it was too bulky and preferred the smooth look of the security screw. Needless to say I have a security screw.

I'm not worried about trying to get out of the device. Barring the crazy idea that I might use titanium, locktite and a breakaway screw. I have the technology to remove locks and screws.

I wonder how long till one of us makes a cage out of tungsten.

Go for the screw. Keep the key in a nice locking jewellery casket. Madame Belle wears the key to the casket.

My wife likes the lock. On the occasion we get to roam the house without clothes. She thoroughly enjoys fidgeting with the lock bouncing it back and forth, watching me struggle in the cage at a futile attempt at an erection.

We prefer the Lock and key (integrated lock) ... but NOT a pad lock, because as stated above they are not very visually appealing and can be pokey during cuddle time. So if I was set on a MM device I would get the security screw.

The screw works best for us as well. For the same reason as mentioned before.

There a no sharp edges to dig in whike cuddling. And its less noticable under clothes. Ony thing I find is I need a little bit of blue Loctite to keep the screw in place and not slowly unscrew.

The answer is each has their benefits, it's really down to what you and your keyholder feel is most important...

My device has two holes on the post, a security screw goes in the inner one, a padlock goes in the outer one. It does make the padlock just a little more prominent than usual, however it does mean that a plastic numbered security tag can be used instead of the padlock, which gives much more certainty that the security hasn't been compromised.
The security screw has the dual purpose of also holding the connection firm so that the cage and ring don't move against each other which prevents noise and pinching, which the necessary small amount of slack around a padlock clasp will allow.

Given that all the security devices can be defeated in different ways, it depends on what reason and how the security is likely to be breached, and whether it's important that the keyholder can detect the tampering.
The security screw can be easily defeated by a good engineer, and replaced with no visible evidence.
The lock similarly can be defeated by picking, and snapped shut again.
The security tag is the most easily physically defeated, but is the most difficult tampering to conceal, so could be a better or worse deterrent depending on the captive and keyholder.

As I said at the beginning, there is no 'best' option, just which one suits the two of you.
I voted 'Security Screw', because my preferred combination is security screw with a security tamper proof tag - difficulty of cover up being more important to me than difficulty of physically tampering.
If a key to wear is important for the KH, it doesn't have to be the real key (they're often rather unglamoruous), you could get a nice antique decorative one to wear symbolically, while the real security key is kept hidden by the KH.

I heard from some males that experienced problems with the cages with security screws constantly coming loose. However, the problem may have been solved by now.

the simple answer to that is to put something in the thread to pinch it tight, could be a dab of varnish or paint, or a slither of paper or a strip of PTFE tape.

For a Mature Metal cage, I recommend the screw option. As @bondinchas said, it makes the cage-ring assembly more rigid. The driver used by Mature Metal is custom and cannot be found in hardware stores (unlike Male Chastity Now who use a very common Torx-with-center-pin type of screw). On the other hand, it seems that all the MM screws use the same driver, so their screws are not as secure as Lori's...

Note that if you have the cage made with the screw option, it will accept a padlock.

To see what the MM driver looks like, see https://www.chastitymansion.com/for...new-mature-metal-security-screw-driver.20544/. The top bit in that picture is the original MM key.

The mm screw was a pain in the butt. My kh didn’t like fiddling with it. Was awkward for her to unscrew it, keep track of it without losing it in bed, and she tried several times to put it on me but lining it all up was difficult for her.

I ended up using a padlock instead. I had to make sure the diameter of the padlock was tight in the hole or there would be too much play on the post and it would turn slightly. Which led to a ball slipping out...ouch!
