Someone posted something a few weeks ago, I went back to try and find the thread but couldn't. As best I can remember, they said something about returning to the Mansion after an extended absence and they were disappointed with the current topics of discussion. They said that they would interact more if there were more threads about things they were interested in.
I agreed with that person completely but my next thought was 'shame on me.' I shall explain. And please don't misunderstand. I'm not saying that all the content in the past is garbage or anything like that. I'm not trying to criticize anyone but myself.

Much of the time the topics are the same things over and over and over. You know exactly what I mean. I have nothing against that content. I just don't have an interest in engaging with it at this point in my life.

But then it hit me. The content is generated only by the members so the content is a reflection of the membership. If there are things that you'd rather discuss than what you see and read, then start discussing it. If you don't like the reflection, change it. Why wait until someone else brings it up? I have every right to post what I want to say so why don't I exercise that right? Instead of sitting back and bitching to myself about what others are posting and being annoyed that no one is posting things I want to read, why don't I actually contribute and create my own threads? Like I said, shame on me for my lack of contribution, and on top of that being selfish.

So, I made the commitment to be more active. I made the commitment to engage, discuss, and create content that is a reflection of me. I made the commitment to not just be a consumer, but a producer. And I challenge all those that might feel like I did to pitch in and lend a helping voice.

Someone recently departed posted about drawing the curtains. This is something I care about. I care about the Mansion. I want our community to grow and prosper. I share @BlueEyes vision and I want to do my part to make it happen. Under his care I'm confident that my efforts won't be wasted the next time the site goes down for three months, because I'm confident that will not happen. I think in the past that might be something that hindered me, as it hindered the site from growing and prospering in general.

So I'm making the commitment to try and do my part and be supportive in the tiny ways I can be.

The first thing I read when I arrived at the mansion was @Caged Wolf's journal and quite frankly it changed my life. He isn't on the same journey as I am, his use of chastity is very different. But, as I read his journal, a lot of my own issues started making a lot more sense. Also the fact that he had been writing it for years and, at the time I was reading I was mere weeks into my own journey helped enormously.

it is worrying to me as a newbie that there aren't more members like Caged Wolf, who have been here for years and still post regularly. Where have they all gone?

We seem to attract a fair share of the fantasists whose posts sound like cheap chastity porn. Maybe they are telling the truth, I can't tell, but it does appear to be the case that they write some of their incredible experiences and then fade away again.

I am interested in the content that reveals how people tick. Why people started and how it has helped. I want to get ideas to give to my Wife and hopefully eventually other Mistresses she can talk to if I do manage to convince her to join.

Thanks @Jasmic68, I do try to post openly and honestly, more so for myself so I can go back and see what was going on, how i was adapting (or not), etc. Living FLR & chastity (even thought it's 95% unlocked and on verbal orders) full time 24/7 is not a game, it is a total relearning of how things work, the cause and effect, and most recently opening up emotionally and learning to deal with things i haven't ever dealt with before.
Each person or couples journey is different, but a lot of the emotions and experiences are similar enough that my rambling may be of use to others, and by posting them i am opening myself up to learn from others who post comments.

While it is fun reading some of the threads and posts that are more exciting, and some even have aspects of what Mistress Wolf and i are hoping to experience in the near future that help me explore my emotions and feelings by imagining myself in the post.

This whole journey is, as some have called it, a mind fuck, something that totally changes who we are and how we think and perceive things. Mistress Wolf and i agrees back at the start that there is no going back, only forward, so if this doesn't work there may be not future for us together. THAT is a huge motivator for me to truly live it and to learn to be flexible understanding, and supportive of my Mistress.

anyway, need to get back to work... yea...

Great post @Living Curious - this site is the sum of those who post and get involved. Good discussion and exchange of thought is just what this place is all about and it helps to show that what might be called "shock jock" posts and threads are irrelevant to most of us.

Good, stimulating, informative and friendly posts, threads and exchanges are what makes this place special :)
